Bertolozzi Physical Therapy is a privately owned outpatient physical therapy practice located in the newly developed Eastdale Village in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  This 1800 square foot facility is just minutes from Poughkeepsie, Millbrook, LaGrange, Clinton, and Hyde Park.

 

Melissa Bertolozzi

Melissa Bertolozzi graduated from Mercy College in 2002 receiving her Masters degree in Physical Therapy. In addition to many years of experience with orthopedic injuries and conditions, she has a comprehensive background in the acute care and sub-acute rehabilitation settings. Committed to learning, she has taken many courses through the University of St. Augustine, Utica College and the Institute of Physical Art to advance her skills in the application of exercise and manual therapy techniques. Melissa continuously seeks knowledge and education from various platforms to stay current with medical trends and treatment applications as they relate to improving her patient outcomes. She founded Bertolozzi Physical Therapy in 2008 and is truly dedicated to providing her patients with comprehensive, competent and compassionate care.

Andrea Mossa-Fisher

Andrea graduated with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science from Orange County Community College in the Physical Therapist Assistant class of 2000. Since her graduation, she has completed various continuing education courses in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise as they relate to treating the orthopedic population. Andrea truly enjoys working in the outpatient orthopedic setting and is highly skilled in the application of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise to improve the function and well-being of her patients. Additionally, she has experience in treating the aging patient as it relates to improving their overall strength and balance in preserving optimal function.

 
 

Katherine Whitman

Graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marist College in 2020. Prior to her studies as a physical therapist she completed her Master’s degree in Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland in 2010. Her educational background in Exercise Science has fueled her career as a personal trainer and strength coach including CrossFit level 2 for over 18 years and ultimately incentivized her to pursue a career in physical therapy. Katherine thrives in the outpatient orthopedic setting using her extensive strength training background to supplement her physical therapy education to help patients achieve their highest level of function and improve their quality of life. Additionally, she is also certified in Rock Tape (FMT Basic, Advanced and Rockblades) which she uses to complement her treatment methods, when appropriate, to benefit the patient’s progress.

Your first appointment will be a comprehensive evaluation that will include a complete medical history, appropriate tests and measures, an explanation of your condition, and the prognosis for Physical Therapy. This means your Physical Therapist will explain to you how Physical Therapy will help you reach your goals and how long you should expect this to take.  Additionally, your Physical therapist will incorporate specific hands-on techniques along with prescriptive exercises and patient education and support to facilitate your progress.
