What is Physical Therapy?shutterstock_166508708
Physical Therapy is a health care profession that uses scientifically-based treatment applications that focus on restoring function, reducing pain, and preventing injury.

Why a Physical Therapist?
Physical Therapists are highly educated health care professionals that are experts in the way the body moves.  Their goal is to assist you in achieving optimal mobility and quality of life while offering alternatives to surgery (in some cases) and the overuse of prescriptive pain medication.

What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring your insurance card, physician’s referral or prescription, and any test results that you have.  If you are coming in for a Worker’s Compensation or No-Fault injury, please bring your insurance carrier address, claim adjustor’s name, your carrier case number, and date of injury.

What should I wear?
If you have an upper-body injury or back injury, please wear or bring a loose tank top or shirt. For lower-body injuries, please wear shorts or loose sweat pants. It is also recommended that you wear sneakers.

How long is each session?
The initial evaluation is approximately 1 hour. During the initial evaluation, a detailed history will be taken and treatment for your injury will be started. Subsequent visits last between 40-45 minutes or longer depending on what treatment is needed.

How often should I attend therapy?
Most treatments are administered 2 to 3 times a week.  Your doctor’s referral or prescription normally states how many times a week you should be seen.

Do I need a referral or prescription to come to Physical Therapy?
You do not need a referral or prescription to attend physical therapy. You can come for 10 visits or 30 days whichever comes first without a referral or prescription. If more visits are needed after that, a referral or prescription is needed.

Are there private treatment rooms?
Yes. We have private treatment rooms for your comfort during your visit. We also have an open gym and stretching area.

What if I don’t have insurance?
We offer self-pay programs. Please call to inquire.

What if you’re not in my insurance network?
If we are not in-network with your insurance or your insurance carrier does not have us listed, please call and we will call to see if there are any out-of-network benefits for you or see if we are able to participate with your carrier. Additionally, we may have recently been added as a network provider therefore we might not be listed yet.
